Review of the Outbright Camping Lantern

Outbright Camping Lantern

By Jessica Shouse

When I took my new Outbright Camping Lantern on my last camping trip I fell in love! This super-compact lantern is the perfect light for your next backpacking, family camping or boating trip.

As dusk set in and I started to wind down for the night I pulled out the lantern and set it atop the table. It provided just the right amount of light I needed to get my campfire started. Once my fire was going, I grabbed my favorite book and kicked back in my favorite camp chair. Again, perfect lighting.

After enjoying the warmth & crackling of the fire for a couple of hours I headed into my tent for the night. Once settled, I hung the light from the top of my tent using the neat little hook that snaps out from the bottom side of the lantern and continued enjoying my book for just a bit longer. I thought this was such a neat feature.

Don’t worry about your phone being dead when you wake up in the morning, you can charge it right on the lantern!

Another neat feature is the red light function. This function comes in handy in the middle of the night when you need to grab that extra pair of socks but don’t want to turn on a bright white light. This function also comes in handy for all you night photography lovers out there.

The on/off switch is easy to find and the carrying handle fits in your hand just right. I was very impressed with the Outbright Camping Lantern.

This powerful little light packs a punch with five different white light settings and also red light setting. On high, at 400 lumens, you can see up to 85 feet away. That’s some bright light!

The small but mighty lantern is only 1.36 pounds, 7.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. The battery life on this thing is no joke either! Once fully charged, about 8 hours, you can use it all weekend long, no problem! On high, you can get up to 24 hours, on medium 75 and on low up to 200 hours! I’ve never had that performance out of a lantern before! The lantern comes with a Micro 5P USB cable, power adapter, carabiner hook and user manual. Everything you need to light up the night!

You can, “use the Outbright Camping Lantern in the rain, in the water, in temperatures below 0°F and in tropical locales. It floats, it hangs and you can [even] charge your phone with it. This Lantern Survives a 5-foot drop on the ground, covered in snow and even a fall in the water. No sand or dirt can damage the Outbright Lantern.”

I’d fully agree, with so many neat features and hours of light, “if you spend any amount of time out in the elements at night without electricity, this is a must-have product. Has a solid feel, it’s dependable and a real life-saver.”

If you would like to get your hands one of these, check out the Outbright website where they will ship it out to you within 24 hours.

I love multi-purpose things that are basically indestructible, like this lantern. The fact it can be dropped, float, and charge my phone makes it a must-have in my book. I’ll be picking one of these up for when I go camping again. I’m anxiously awaiting things to open back up so I can go.

This looks like a great product! I would especially enjoy being able to charge my phone on the lamp, as that would definitely be a concern when camping.

This looks like a great lantern. I love that it can also be used to charge your phones! We always bring a power bank along to make sure that we have that option, but it doesn’t always last for a longer trip. Having this as a back up would be great! I also love that it has the red light version. We use headlamps pretty religiously for taking the pups out at night and I have quickly fallen in love with how easy that is on the eyes.

This lantern looks like a great product to possess. It is not only trendy but the features like charging a phone would come handy too. It is sturdy as well. I’ll check this out once home delivery is back in India after Covid-19 restrictions on the same is withdrawn.

What a really fantastic lantern. I could imagine that it would be a greta tool for campers, but also people who have cottages. And even those of us who rarely leave the urban core — I’ve lived through two lengthy serious blackouts and this would be really great to have on hand, just in case.

We usually use flashlights during our camping. I hope I can purchase an Outbright Camping Lantern. It seems sturdy and very useful for camping. It looks easy to carry too. That will be one of the parameters on why I’ll purchase it. I love the design as well.

Thats a good lantern to carry for camping. I like the hours you can use it. Its good that it can sustain any dirt or mud because normally we face these during hiking and trekking.

That is awesome! All those features make this camping lantern perfect for outdoor adventures. That would also make for a good emergency light, if and when we lose power because of a weather disturbance. Thanks for the review!

I am not much of a camper but this light would be helpful when the power goes out during a storm. It’s almost hurricane season here. I will have to check this out!

When I am camping with friends, I try to pack very light and I usually don’t bring anything bulky because it takes up so much space. Although this lantern is a little bit bulky, I love all the features you mentioned here. The fact that it floats and can withstand temperatures below zero and that from the tropics is great news! Thanks for this recommendation.
