Surviveware First Aid Kit and Biodegradable Wet Wipes

Whether packing for a short hike or a long trip it can be easy to overlook the first aid supplies. Having a fully stocked kit with everything available can help make grabbing your kit a habit. More importantly, having a lightweight and compact kit with just the essentials is going to ensure that it is not a burden. Surviveware specializes in organized preparedness, they sell a variety of safety kits and outdoor products. They sent me a small first aid kit and some biodegradable wet wipes to review. I used both items around the house and took them on a recent road trip with me.

This bag is lightweight and the versatile straps make it easy to take along with you. The same number of supplies could fit into a smaller bag and take up less bulk but the key to this bag is that everything is well organized so you can both access it when you need it and quickly check the bag to ensure it is fully stocked. It comes well-stocked with basic first aid supplies.

Like all first aid packs, you will want to personalize it to your needs and activities. This bag runs about $35 making it an affordable way to ensure you are prepared with first aid supplies. While on our road trip it was easy to find the first aid bag. The straps came in handy, we attached the kit to the cooler we kept in the car so we always had it. Fortunately, we never needed to use it. You can purchase these packs on Amazon and check them out here

The Biodegradable Wet Wipes

Biodegradable wet wipes come in a variety of sizes and packaging. They are unscented and alcohol and plastic-free. These wipes begin to biodegrade in 28 days and will completely decompose in 100 days, unlike common wet wipes that contain plastics. They come in large and extra-large sizes and in resealable packages that will keep the wet wipes fresh. They also offer these wet wipes in individual packages.

Biodegradable Wet WipesI received a pack of the large and the extra-large wet wipes. When used on my skin they did not leave any residue and did a great job wiping away first. They were sturdy and held up well.

I thought of my favorite use for them when my dog stepped in something I didn’t want to be tracked into the house. I also didn’t want to use the towel we usually use to dry her feet so I pulled out a pack of the wet wipes. The large wipes worked perfectly. They held up as I cleaned around each nail and did all four feet. It was great to toss it when I was done. I decided I was done with keeping a towel by the front door and will continue to use these to wipe her feet. They do a beautiful job and do not irritate her paws. I truly appreciated the extra-large wipes when she rolled in something and smelled horrible one day. One wipe was enough to clean up up and take away the smell.

I left a package outside on the front step for about 3 weeks and found the wipes were wet and ready to use every time I needed them despite the fact our Minnesota spring brought us both temperatures below freezing and above 95 degrees Fahrenheit during that time. The wipes also were useful on our road trip for everything from freshening up during a hot day of hiking and using outhouses, washing sticky lunch off our hands, and cleaning mud off my feet after walking through a sloppy trail in sandals.

My Review

surviveware Biodegradable Wet WipesI was a little skeptical of the wipes at first. They are not something I’ve really used since my kids were little since I like to avoid waste. I was actually shocked to realize that traditional wipes contain plastic, after learning this I was thankful they were not something we used. I appreciate that these wipes are unscented and biodegradable. They were gentle on my skin worked like a dream on my dog. After discovering how awesome they were for cleaning messy paws and stinky fur I did a search to see if I could find anything comparable and found anything that was similar was very close in price or more expensive. I will continue to use this product on my dog especially and be sure to pack them on trips because they held up remarkably well and did a great job cleaning. You can find out more about them here

We camp a few times a year as a family, so a kit like this would come in so useful. We have had to use first aid twice whilst camping.

Very timely post. This reminds me I should update my survival kit. It’s a bit outdated and not designed for the covid era… it becomes doubly hard now as we must consider bringing lots of alcohol face masks and protective gears like face shields… those biodegradable wipes are cool! At least less guilt on the environmental aspect. Esp we need to sanitize more often.

It’s great to see that these wipes are biodegradable when compared with many others on the market and the fact that they don’t dry out is brilliant. First aid kits are so handy and they seem to last a lifetime as well.
