My review of Pits and Bits

By Samantha Kent

In the modern age of COVID-19 and the need to clean and wash on the go, a product has found a wider audience. Generally marketed towards hikers, Festival-goers, campers, and general outdoorsy folk, the pandemic has opened up the appeal of this much more.

Pits and Bits is a waterless solution to help keep you clean when you are on the go. It’s paraben and Alcohol-free, giving you an alternative to regular hand sanitizers that can become quite drying on the skin when used frequently. Pits and Bits is vegan and cruelty-free too!

Pits and Bits no water requiredI tried the shampoo and body wash. Both smelled a little of apple and lemon which was quite a nice clean crisp scent however coconut and unscented are also available! There was no residue that I could feel after washing with it and although the wash cloths needed water to expand, they were easy enough to wring out with little effort however regular towels will do the job just the same.

The patch of scalp I used the shampoo on was left feeling very clean, I was actually quite concerned that it wouldn’t get rid of dry skin and dandruff but with enough manipulation and when dried off well there was actually very little left behind!

The body wash I decided to use on my armpits after a workout. I’ve yet to put deodorant on after using the wash but I’ve been left with a pleasant apple scent which is great.

The set of body wash, shampoo, and hand towels is reasonably priced too, £7.50 from amazon and £7.49 Direct from the retailer. It comes in varying sizes as well which makes a smaller set perfect for air travel but also handy to store away. The bottles are fairly sturdy and could handle being thrown in a suitcase quite well! I’m genuinely considering buying more soon as I have days where I will struggle to get into the shower due to my disabilities and this provides a handy quick-fix alternative.

So, in summary, this product has a great many uses! I will continue to use it in day to day life as well as out on trips! Perfect for a quick freshen up when you are away from facilities!

Waterless cleaning solutions seem to be popular right now. I have thought about these when travelling with only a carry on to reduce the liquids I carry. But always wondered if they really worked. I like the idea of using them for a quick freshen up. And the apple scent sounds good.

Sounds like a great product for when outdoors and it is something I will look into when I go hiking. Although I am more of water and soap person, it is good to have a product such as Pits and Bits as an option as well.

I could use this when I visit the rural area in my country where we need to sterilise our water

This is certainly very handy, however, I’m a big fan of water – preferably running water. Even during the pandemic, I prefer washing my hands with water and soap instead of using a disinfectant.

I know one of the reasons I don’t like camping is the idea of how to clean up. This is a great solution! I could also see it being great if you are travelling long distances or where water might not be as available for washing.

I have never heard about Pits and Bits but it seems like a very useful and multi-functional product. I would like to try this. I believe that it could be used on daily basis and not only for camping, also if you travel by public transport.

I’ve been using it as a freshen up after my morning exercises just to freshen up as I tend to prefer to shower just before bed. It’s definitely been useful!

Such an important thing that its cruelty free in this age!, Tho I do wonder if it would be any use on dogs for people who have dogs that like to go jump in lakes or just get generally dirty!

Wow. This is the first time I’ve encountered a waterless solution for cleaning up. Now that more and more people are going camping/hiking as a way to explore the world (until we can travel again), Pits and Bits will come in handy. When there are no facilities or limited water, a waterless solution like Pits and Bits will keep us clean and fresh throughout the trip. A total game changer!

I’m sure these are popping up frequently because of the pandemic, which is a good thing for when you’re in a rough spot. The stores kept running out of purell-type items. So this would be a good alternative to have on hand.

I love a multi- functional products, specially for travel and camping. I just hate carrying around 10 different products and be stressed that I might forget something and not have what I need. Pits and Bits sounds just so lovely and perfect !

This is a great product for the influx of new campers heading out to spend time vacationing outdoors with the current travel restrictions. Here in Ontario, the provincial parks opened their camping up however, they made the decision to keep the showers closed for the season. As a result, how to keep clean while camping became a top discussion in many online camping forums that I frequent.
