Is a Camping Bachelorette Party Right for You?

By Amanda Moore

So, you’ve got a partner, the ring, the venue, The Dress of your dreams, your entire wedding party, cake—basically, everything is set and you’re pretty much officially Off the Market. The only thing left to do before you actually walk down the aisle is the Bachelorette Party; your one last hurrah with your friends before you say “I do.” And what’s better than doing what you love to do with people that you love to be with?

However, one thing that rings true for all bachelorette parties is the importance of staying safe, and cleaning up after yourselves (because sometimes, the shindigs can get out of hand.) It doesn’t matter what kind of bachelorette party you have, whether you’re partying in the club, relaxing at the spa, or hanging out in the swankiest hotel in town–you should always prioritize safety, and make sure that the event site isn’t left a total wreck because that also contributes to your bachelorette party experience.

The main question here is what kind of bachelorette party is right for you? There isn’t a definite right or wrong answer, and the possibilities are endless. This is, after all, what is going to lead up to your special day.

When one thinks of a bachelorette party, the great outdoors isn’t where one’s mind would normally go to. That doesn’t necessarily mean that this is a bad idea. If you’re a person who loves spending time outside, then why not go for a camping trip? It’s fun, it’s unique, and it will definitely be unforgettable. But if you aren’t entirely convinced, keep on reading.

If you want quality time with your closest friends.

One of the best things about bachelorette parties is that it’s the perfect opportunity for all your friends to meet up and spend time together. It’s even more exciting if your friends live in a different city and you don’t get to hang out often. Camping is one of those activities where you can get to know your friends very well and forge stronger bonds.

The plethora of games that you’ll be able to play in the safety of a campground or a tent is reminiscent of those sleepovers you had as a pre-teen. It’s an experience that’s nostalgic but can also be elevated when you mix in some classic bachelorette activities, from playing Truth or Dare to applying face masks.

If you want some time away from your busy life.

Do you ever need a change of pace or something new to look at? Perhaps you just need to get out of town without booking airplane tickets—maybe camping is that break that you need. Sometimes, it feels heeling to spend time out in nature making flower crowns or taking a hike along some nature trails.

This kind of bachelorette party serves as a break away from home without being too far removed from your everyday life, so you can easily have the best of both worlds in this situation.

It is a great way to save money.

Let’s be real: weddings are expensive, and so are honeymoons. If you’re looking for a way to save money without sacrificing any of the fun, consider a camping bachelorette party. Hotels can be expensive, especially if you have a large group coming in. Pair that with food, drinks, and other forms of entertainment, and your wallet could be feeling a little hollow.

In the same vein, going to a spa can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars that aren’t necessary to have a good time. Granted, there are a plethora of deals out there for spa days. It’s actually fairly common for spas and nail salons to offer deals on a combination of different relaxing services from typical mani-pedis to mud baths, hot stone or oil massages, and hair removal procedures that are sure to make you feel pampered before the big day.

If you’re looking for something a little more unique, then why not try taking some elements of the spa and incorporating it into a camping bachelorette party? DIY masks are cheaper, and creating them with your friends can be just as fun as hanging at a spa. After all, there isn’t anything wrong with buying a few tents, some food, loading up the back of your cars and pulling away to have fun in the wilderness and, in the end, you’ll end up saving a considerable amount as well.

If you aren’t about clubbing.

Clubs are a popular area for most bachelorette clubs, but if you’re not a fan of the pulsing music, the sea of people, and the overpriced drinks then you might have a better time outdoors. Though you don’t necessarily need alcohol to have a successful bachelorette party, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have it at a camping bachelorette party (you know, granted that you are safe, drink responsibly and clean up after yourselves.)

What a totally unique idea for a bachelorette party! It seems like it would be so much more intimate than the typical clubbing situation. A whole different kind of getting “wild”
