Looking for a unique, fun New England getaway? Head to the Tuxbury Tiny House Village in beautiful South Hampton, New Hampshire.

Located in a quaint little corner of New England, USA, escape from city life and explore the tiny house living. Here are 5 great reasons to explore Tuxbury Tiny House Village:

The Tuxbury Tiny House Village is a cute collection of five unique accommodations by Petite Retreats, named Emerson, Henry, Clara, Riley and Murphy. The tiny houses range in size from 180 to 310 square feet, and each house has its own personality, décor and comforts of home- just in a smaller sized space.

A simplistic kitchenette lines the wall, complete with coffee pot, fridge and set of dishes. A full bathroom is located in the back, and over the couch hangs a flat-screen TV. A window overlooks Tuxbury Pond, and the loft bedroom (sleeping 4) is comfortable and cozy. Right outside your door is a fire pit, perfect for an evening of s’mores.

On the grounds are also an outdoor pool, general store, adult game room, playground, arcade/game room, outdoor entertainment pavilion, ball field, horseshoe, basketball and volleyball courts.

Tuxbury Pond is a few steps from your front door, and the lake is perfect for swimming, kayaking, canoeing or fishing.

The pond is a glossy deep blue, with dashes of bright green lily pads.

Stand up paddleboarding has been trending, and the best way to enjoy nature and get a great workout is on top of the water.

SUP YO is a local company that holds classes on nearby Lake Gardner and throughout Massachusetts. Classes are 75 minutes long and include all equipment. I didn’t fall in but prepare to possibly get wet.

Explore Farm Life

One of the highlights of the area is nearby Cider Hill Farm, a beautiful family-owned farm run by Glenn and Karen Cook in Amesbury.

Started by Glenn’s parents, the farm has slowly expanded over the years to what it is today- 145 acres including 5 houses, a food truck, bakery, boutique, CSA, Cider Distillery & tasting room and fruit-picking orchards. Make sure to try the apple cider, and the apple cider donut is nothing short of heavenly.

Perfect for the whole family, the little ones will enjoy Glenn’s Trike Yards, the giant sandbox or hayrides, and everyone will love feeding the goats and chickens. Make sure to check out the event calendar for farm yoga, festivals and workshops, especially for specific fruit (blueberry, peach, raspberry, strawberries, apples and pumpkin) picking seasons.

4.) History

Back in town, explore the quaint shopping district of historic Amesbury.  A former mill town and home to several historic firsts (such as the inventor the wooden fishing dory, one of the first abolitionist voices against slavery and home to a signer of the Declaration of Independence) the small town is surrounded by waterways, green space and brick sidewalks. Mill spaces have been reincarnated into modern offices, small businesses and artist spaces.

If you want to check out the museums, head to Mary Baker Eddy Historic House, an antique house from the 18th Century or The Macy Colby House, from the Macy family dating back to 1654.

 5.) Good Eats

Grab a bite to eat at the original Flatbread Company, a comfortable eatery known for massive salads with homemade dressings, wood-fired pizzas and decadent desserts. The area is big on farm to table and sourcing fresh local ingredients from nearby farms. Great for breakfast or a quick lunch, Market Square Bakehouse is the perfect, cozy spot in Amesbury. Yummy eats include fresh baked goods, gourmet coffee & teas, handcrafted paninis, soups and salads.

We are always looking for new, unique places to stay. This definitely looks like something we would love. The houses seem so cute and functional even for a family with kids. A huge plus from the activities near by. We are great nature lovers and love hiking for example. We have not been to New England yet, but will definitely keep this place in mind for our future adventures.

Perfect place for a retreat from the busy urban life. I would be there in a flash if we only lived close. The place seems to offer total relaxation, with the peace and quiet surrounded by nature’s beauty. You can’t get that anywhere in this city I am living in!

I think it is a good idea to get out of big city life to experience a peaceful quiet and more natural one every now and then. I love the idea of fishing and experiencing farm life. It’s beautiful and serene.

A tiny house would be a dream for me! But given that they don’t have them where I live, I’d love to escape to this village and experience it as best as I can. 🙂

This would be such a cute and memorable place to stay on a vacation. We are considering a drive up the East Coast for our summer vacation, and New England is on our radar! Thank you for the out of the ordinary accommodations idea!

The Tuxbury Tiny House Village looks so cute. Although 310 sq ft is not that small for a suite space. It sounds like there is everything you need on the grounds. All set right in the middle of nature. And great foods from the Flatbread Company too.

Great places to stay! Right in the lap of nature! I like being surrounded by greenery especially after living in a concrete jungle for so many years. Love museums, will definitely check out the antique house if I am there. The Cider Hill farm experience sounds great. Such a good experience for you.

I would so love to take my young family there. This would be the ideal location and accommodation to stop up. I think the appeal that it overlooks the water is ideal and can have fun with them. But it would be a great place to teach them the outdoors lifestyle. However for me, the accommodation looks comfortable and the distillery is appealing (love my drink).

This place looks so cute! I like that you are close to nature but have some home comforts to enjoy. I liked the tip about the cider farm, I like cider and have never tried a cider donut (but now want one). Another great place to stay, thank you

MAN! I did two New England trips last year and did not know about Tuxbury Tiny House Village. Amesbury was not out of the way either. Such a bummer, I would love this. I always watch the tiny house shows and this property looks beautiful. Bonus that fruit picking and hayrack rides are nearby. It looks like the perfect spot to stop and breath for a few days

I have heard about the whole Tiny House movement but didn’t know how cute an actual stay like this was! I would love to explore the farm life, enjoy the tranquil surroundings and even participate in the local festivals and farm yoga. I wish there were more places like this where families and friends can know what’s it like to live in a downsized house and this, in turn, will allow more people to enjoy the great outdoors instead of being cooped up inside. Thanks for sharing this!

We’ve been digging into small houses for sometime now. I love the concept and I would really like to stay in one of these to check our comfort in these before building our own home! Window view of the pond and fireput just outside are just perfect! The waters look gorgeous. Swimming here would be just so splendid. As someone who like cider, heading to the fruit picking orchards and distillery would be perfect for me!
