Free checklists for lovers of the great outdoors

Many of us live for the time when we get to experience the outdoors. We are constantly planning the next great escape from the city to again be at peace with the serenity, majesty and wonder of nature.

Often in our pressured, busy lives it is so easy to forget a few things that would make our experience in nature all the better. How many times can you recall running late to get away from your routine and in your rush, you overlooked things you wished you hadn’t? If you’re anything like me (human, that is), then you can surely relate.

And let’s face it. On some outings, be they for a short or a long while, there can be so many things to remember, depending on what you are doing and who you are doing it with.

So with the above in mind, a few Camping for Women contributors have come up with some checklists to help make our planning and getting things together a little easier. There are 6 checklists that we have put up initially and more will be added to in the future.

Already bookmarked. I particularly like the camping with kids checklist. Camping out with my kid has been high in my to do list for sometime now. But I really didn’t know everything that might be needed when I set off for it. Now I do 🙂

There always seem to be something that we forget no matter how often we venture out into the great outdoors. If you think of any other things, by all means let us know and we can always add them in!

You bet! Lists are mostly all around ‘prevention being better than the cure’. Always best to be well prepared I say.

First off, I am addicted to using lists. I tend to find a lot online and merge them all together. Secondly, this couldn’t have come at a better time considering I am planning a month long road trip in June! Saving for later!!

I am definitely checking out the first aid checklist because although I took a course in first aid and worked with both kids and the elderly that was a while ago now so my skills are probably rusty. Thank you for the wide variety of checklists x

I love this! Every person is different, so one single checklist or guide doesn’t fit everyone’s needs. As a mom who travels (and hikes) with a toddler, it’s refreshing to find different checklist options. Moms have to bring so many additional things for their kids. I’m bookmarking this page!

Thanks so much Melissa. From what you are saying, I’m guessing the The Camping with Kids at all Stages Checklist by Lynley Joyce might end up being your favorite. Lynley is certainly very thorough in her approach and her list is quite comprehensive.

It has been a long time since we did some camping as a family. It is such a great time to explore the outdoors! Due to health issues, this family activity has taken a back seat. We now just do road trips to nearby places. I’m downloading the road trip checklist and the first aid checklist. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Brandy. While many of us just love the enjoyment that we get from RVs, you should consider camping again also. No doubt this will bring back many wonderful memories that you will be able to pass on to loved ones and friends. Keep enjoying the great outdoors!

As a woman who doesn’t get too much time being outdoors or camping… I must say these are really good checklists… I think if I would have had access to this when I first went camping… I might have a different perspective about camping then and had a better experience. However, I also have a lot of friends that like camping, hiking and fishing and I will pass this along!

These are great lists. I never thought that a female’s needs would be different from a male’s. Many of my female friends are adventure and camping enthusiasts. I would share this with them. They are always concerned about packing.

Hi Abhinav. While it is true that there are some differences between male and female needs, the majority of the things that apply would be the same. Obviously Camping for Women focuses on women’s needs specifically. Thank you for passing this info on to your female friends that enjoy camping and adventure. We hope they would get value from them.

With the rise in adventure tourism here in India, the number of women opting for treks have increased significantly over the years. However, the main cause of issue for a lot of them and a lot of new trekkers is what to pack, and your lists is the perfect solution for everyone.
